PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of the
most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand, and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.

HEREAS by an Ordinance of the Lieu-
tenant-Governor and the Legislative
Council of the Colony, intituled "An Ordinance
for establishing Standard Weights and Mea-
sures and for the prevention of the use of such
as are false and deficient," Session 7, No. 10,
the Governor is empowered from time to time
by proclamation to appoint and define the
Towns and Districts to which the operation of
the said Ordinance should extend. Now,
therefore, I, Thomas Gore Browne, the Go-
vernor, as aforesaid, of the said Colony, in
exercise of the said power and authority, do
hereby proclaim and appoint that from and
after the thirtieth day of April, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty, the operation of the
said in part recited Ordinance shall extend to
all that territory situate in the Province of
Auckland in the said Colony, known and
defined as the Electoral Districts of the "City
of Auckland," the "Suburbs of Auckland,"
and the "Pensioner Settlements."
