every such package shall be weighed, and
the weight of such contents, in Troy
weight, ascertained by the exporter or his
agent, in the presence and to the satis-
faction of such Officer, and the exporter or
his agent shall thereupon securely repack the
contents of every such package to the satis-
faction of such Officer, and shall legibly and
properly inscribe the weight of such contents
on the outside of the package. The Collector,
or other proper Officer, shall then seal the
package with the Official Custom's Seal, and
may place any additional mark thereon for the
better identification thereof. And no such
package shall be opened or seal broken, or
mark altered or defaced, before the final
departure of the export ship on her foreign
voyage.
5. After the completion of such examination
and other proceedings, the exporter of any
such package, or his agent, shall pass an
export entry for the same, and the proper duty
shall be paid thereon before the same is taken
from the Custom House for shipment, and the
Collector, or other proper Officer, shall there-
upon deliver to the exporter or his agent a
duplicate of such entry, with a certificate
signed by such Collector of the payment of
duty thereon.
6. No Gold shall be shipped, or waterborne
to be shipped, or be received on board of any
vessel for exportation until a duplicate of such
entry, with such certificate of payment of duty
as aforesaid written thereon, shall have been
delivered to the Master; and the Master of
every vessel bound on a foreign voyage shall
produce such entry and certificate for any Gold
on board of his vessel to any Officer of Customs
on demand, and such entry shall be appended
under the Seal of the Customs to the
outward of such ship.
7. Gold, and packages of Gold, shall for
all the purposes of the Customs Regulation
Act, 1858, be deemed and taken to be goods
the exportation of which is restricted, and shall
be specified as such in the Content or Outwards
Manifest of the export ship.
8. For the purposes of this Proclamation the
term Gold shall mean such Gold only as by
the Gold Duty Act, 1858, is made subject to
a duty of Customs on the exportation thereof
from the Colony.

PROCLAMATION.

GORE BROWNE, Companion of the
Most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General As-
sembly of New Zealand, intituled "The
Naturalization Act, 1858," it is enacted that
every person who shall be declared to come
within the operation of this Act by any
Proclamation to be issued in that behalf by His
Excellency the Governor, shall, as from the
time in such Proclamation specified, be
deemed and taken, until the termination of the
next Session of the General Assembly, to be and
to have been, from such specified time, a natural-
born subject of Her Majesty within the Colony
of New Zealand, as fully to all intents and
purposes as if his name had been inserted in
the Schedule hereunto annexed. Provided
always, that every such Proclamation shall
contain the description, occupation, or call-
ing of every person therein named, and his
place of residence at the date of such Pro-
clamation.
Now, therefore, I, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and
authority in me vested by the said Act, do here-
by proclaim and declare that the persons herein-
after mentioned, shall come within the opera-
tion of the said Act, from the dates herein-
after specified, viz.:
