Now therefore I, the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the power and au-
thority in me vested by the said Act, do here-
by proclaim and declare that the person here-
inafter mentioned shall come within the ope-
ration of the said Act from the date herein-

the Most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Ma-
jesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS it is expedient to bring into
operation within the Province of Can-
terbury the Ordinance for establishing
standard Weights and Measures, and for the
prevention of the use of such as are false and
deficient, Session vii., No. 10,
Now, therefore, I, Thomas Gore Browne,
the Governor of New Zealand, in exercise of
the power and authority in ine vested in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint that
from the fourteenth day of February, One
thousand eight hundred and sixty-one, the
operation of the said Ordinance shall extend
to the Province of Canterbury, in the said
Colony.

vince of Hawke's Bay the Ordinance for
establishing Standard Weights and Measures,
and for the prevention of the use of such as
are false and deficient-Session vii. No. 10,
Now, therefore, I, Thomas Gore Browne,
the Governor of New Zealand, in exercise of
the power and authority in me vested in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint that
from the fourteenth day of February, One
thousand eight hundred and sixty-one, the
operation of the said Ordinance shall extend
to all that territory situate in the Province of
Hawke's Bay, in the said Colony, bounded on
the South by a line drawn from Manawarakau
to the Hawea Stream, near Wakatatara (ex-
cluding Messrs. Chapman, Monteith, and
Curling's runs), and thence running along
the Middle Road as far as the Gorge, thence
to the Ngaruroro at the Awate Atua, and
following the Ngaruroro Westward to the
boundary of the Province on that side.
