A PROCLAMATION.
Constituting Hundreds in the Province of
Otago.

By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of
the Most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the "Defi-
nition of Districts Act, 1858," that it
shall be lawful for the Governor from time to
time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette, to divide the Colony into Counties,
Hundreds, Parishes, or such other divisions as
he may deem expedient, which shall have such
limits, and shall have and be known by such
names or designations as in and by the Pro-
clamation constituting the same shall be pre-
scribed.

Now therefore I, Thomas Gore Browne, the
Governor as aforesaid, in exercise of the power
in me in this behalf vested by the said recited
Act, do hereby Proclaim and Declare as fol-
lows:β€”

There shall be within the Province of Otago
in the said Colony the several Hundreds,
bounded by the limits and known by the
names or designations hereunder written; that
is to say,

HAWKESBURY,
Forty-three square miles.
Bounded on the North by a direct line from
Little Cone to Puketapu, thence by a
direct line to the Lagoon head, thence by the
Lagoon to the Ocean; on the East by the
Ocean; on the South by Waikowaite River;
on the West by a direct line from the Waiko-
waite junction to Mount Pleasant, thence by a
direct line to Little Cone.

MOERAKI.
Twenty-four square miles.
Bounded on the North by the Kakaho
Creek; on the East by the Ocean; on the
South by a direct line from the mouth of the
Waipai to Ridge Peak; and on the West by a
direct line from Ridge Peak to the junction of
the Kakaho Creek.

OAMAROO.
Thirty-nine square miles.
Bounded on the North by an East and
West line (true bearing), passing over the
Devil's Bridge, between the Waiareka and
Landon Creeks, and by the Landon Creek; on
the East and South by the Ocean; and on the
West by the Waiareka Creek.

issued under the Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand, this
30th day of November, in the
year of Our Lord, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty.
