Warrant appointing Polling-place.

By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of
the Most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and Vice-
Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL
COME, GREETING:

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly, intituled the "The Regu-
lation of Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by
Warrant under his hand, from time to time, to
appoint Polling Places for each Electoral
District within or without the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such Places to be
the Principal Polling Place for the District,
and all or any of such Polling Places at any
time to abolish, and to appoint other Polling
Places in lieu thereof:

NOW KNOW YE, that I, Thomas Gore
Browne, the Governor of the said Colony, in
pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint
the following place to be Polling Place for the
Electoral District of Grey and Bell, as con-
stituted by the "Representation Act, 1860,"
for the election of Members of the House of
Representatives, namely:--

At New Plymouth-The Court House.

And I do further appoint the Polling Place
at the Court House, New Plymouth, to be the
principal Polling Place for the said District.

ment House at Auckland, this
31st day of October in the year
of Our Lord, One thousand
eight hundred and sixty,

Affairs, and that his resignation has been ac-
cepted.

has been appointed Minister for Native Affairs.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to
be notified that
HENRY WILLIAM PETRE, Esq., commonly
called the Hon. Henry William Petre,
having, for two successive Sessions of the Ge-
neral Assembly, failed to give his attendance
in the Legislative Council, without the per-
mission of Her Majesty or of the Governor,
signified by the Governor to the said Legisla-
tive Council, his seat in the said Council has
thereby become vacant.

be notified that
JOHN JOHNSTON, Esq.,
having, for two successive Sessions of the Ge-
neral Assembly, failed to give his attendance
in the Legislative Council, without the per-
mission of Her Majesty or of the Governor,
signified by the Governor to the said Legisla-
tive Council, his seat in the said Council has
thereby become vacant.
