PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of
the most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand, and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS the lands hereinafter men-
tioned have been acquired by purchase
from the aboriginal inhabitants of New Zea-
land, and it is expedient that the acquisition
thereof should be notified by Proclamation ac-
cordingly:
Now, therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby
proclaim and notify that the Native Title has
been extinguished over the Blocks of Land
whereof the boundaries are mentioned or des-
cribed in the schedule hereunto annexed.
Given under my Hand and issued
under the Public Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand, at the
Government House at Auckland,
this second day of October,
in the year of Our Lord, One
thousand eight hundred and
sixty.

SCHEDULE.
PROVINCE OF WELLINGTON,
Wairarapa District, Otahuao Block,
Containing 3,000 acres.
The boundary commences at the Haka-
kahia (Collins' fence), thence along the cut
line to Te Pirau, here eastward crossing the
Whangaehu river to Patuahinemoki on to Te
Purapura, Te Wai o te Ngarehu Taumataraia
on the Tauheru river, following the course of
the Tauheru to Mongamutu; thence westward
to Pahikaikakariki, Puketawai, the Roto, Te
Puna-a-toko, the Whangaehu river, and down
the Whangaehu to Nga Kopu a te Rangi-
haeata; thence in a straight line to Haka-
kahia.
Reserve.
One hundred acres is to be reserved for
Tamati te Kokori at Tangahanga.
Wairarapa District, Hikurangi and Awa-
toetoe Blocks,
Containing 530 acres.
The boundary of the Hikurangi Block
commences at the confluence of the Otamariki
creek, and Whareama river; thence up the
Otamariki creek to its source; thence to
Hikurangi, and on to Whareama, down the
Whareama river to its confluence with the
Otamariki creek.
The Awatoetoe Block consists of the small
piece of bush adjoining to Mr. Telford's
homestead on the Awatoetoe creek.
