THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Know ye, that we have assigned you, and
each and every of you, jointly and severally, to
be our Justices of the Peace in the Province of
Marlborough, in Our Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, to keep and cause to be
kept all Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes in force
within the said Province, for the punishing of
offenders, the preservation of the peace, and for
the quiet rule, welfare, and good government
of Our People in the said Province; and to
have, exercise, and discharge all the powers,
authorities, and duties belonging or pertaining
to the office of a Justice of the Peace in the
said Province.
And therefore We command you and each
and every of you that to keep the Peace and
all Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes, and all and
singular other the Premises you diligently ap-
ply youselves, and that, at certain days and
places duly appointed or to be appointed for
these purposes, into the Premises to make en-
quiry, and all and singular the Premises hear
and determine and perform and fulfil them,
doing therein what to justice appertains, ac-
cording to the law and custom of England and
of the said Province.
And we command all Our Sheriffs in the
said Province at certain days and places ap-
pointed or to be appointed, to be aiding by all
lawful means in the performance and due exe-
cution of the Premises.
In testimony whereof, We have caused these
Our Letters to be made Patent, and the Seal
of Our Colony to be hereunto affixed.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL
COME, GREETING:
Warrant under his hand, from time to time, to
appoint Polling Places for each Electoral
District within or without the limits thereof,
and to appoint any one of such Places to be
the Principal Polling Place for the District,
and all or any of such Polling Places at any
time to abolish, and to appoint other Polling
Places in lieu thereof: AND WHEREAS by
Warrant under the hand of the Governor
bearing date the first day of June one thou-
sand eight hundred and fifty-nine,
Dr. Richardson's Station at Toie-toie's,
was appointed a Polling Place for the Dunedin
Country District for the election of Members of
the House of Representatives. AND WHEREAS
it is expedient to abolish the same.
NOW KNOW YE, that I, Thomas Gore
Browne, the Governor of the said Colony, in
pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby abolish
the above-named Polling Place for the Dunedin
Country District for the election of members of
the House of Representatives.
Given under my hand, at Govern-
ment House, at Auckland, this
twelfth day of November, in

COME, GREETING :
WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly, intituled "The Regulation
of Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Governor by Warrant
under his hand, from time to time to appoint
Polling Places for each Electoral District within
or without the limits thereof, and to appoint
any one of such places to be the Principal Poll-
ing Place for the District, and all or any of
such Polling Places at any time to abolish
and to appoint other Polling Places in lieu
thereof. AND WHEREAS by another Act of the
General Assembly, intituled "The Provincial
Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that, sub-
ject to certain provisions therein contained,
every election of the Superintendent or of a
Member of the Provincial Council of a Pro-
vince, shall be conducted in the manner
prescribed, by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1858," aforesaid, and all the provisions
of the said last mentioned Act, shall apply to
the Elections of Superintendents and Members
of Provincial Councils.
