(2.) Wilson's Promontory.
The Wilson's Promontory Lighthouse is sit-
uated on the south-eastern part of that head-
land; its approximate position is latitude 39
9' S., longitude 146° 23' E.

The light will be a catoptric, first class, fixed
white light; it is elevated three hundred and
forty-two (342) feet above the mean level of
the sea, and will be seen in clear weather at the
distance of about twenty-four (24) nautic miles,
allowing ten feet for the height of the eye, and
at lesser distances according to the state of the
atmosphere.

The lighthouse tower is circular, built of
stone, and painted white.

The Wilson's Promontory light will be ex-
hibited on the evening of the 15th day of July
next, and on every night thereafter from sunset
to sunrise.

NOTE.—The actual arc to be illuminated not
having yet been tested by observation, a further
notice containing the necessary information will
be published before the exhibition of the light.

(3.) Port Albert light.
The Port Albert Lighthouse is situated on
the eastern end of La Trobe Island; its ap-
proximate position is in latitude 38° 46' S.,
longitude 146° 38' E.

The light will be catadioptric, fourth class,
fixed and flashing red light, showing a flash
every three minutes.

(4.) Portland Bay Light.
Portland Bay Lighthouse is situated on Bat-
tery Hill, near the Flagstaff; its approximate
position is in latitude 38° 22' S., 141° 39'
E. longitude. The light will be a catadioptric,
fourth class, fixed red light.

When this light is exhibited. the one now
shown at the sea ward end of the jetty will be
altered in color from red to green.

(5.) Port Fairy Light.
Port Fairy Lighthouse is situated on the
south-eastern part of Rabbit Island, about ten
yards from high water mark; its approximate
position is latitude 38° 24' S., longitude
142° 19' E.

The light will be a fourth class catadioptric,
fixed and flashing red light, showing a flash
every three minutes.

N.B.—Mariners are particularly requested
to note the distinctive feature between this a d
the Cape Otway light, the latter being white,
and attaining its greatest brilliancy once every
minute.

(6.) Warrnambool Light.
The seaward Warrnambool light is situated
on Middle Island; its approximate position is
in latitude 38° 26' S., longitude 142° 32'
E. The light will be a fourth class catadioptric
fixed white light.

(7.) A small leading light, colored red, will
be exhibited on the 1st of January, 1860, from
a tower situated a little above high water mark,
in a line with two (2) stone obelisks, which
kept in one on a bearing of due north leads into
the anchorage.

The leading light will be marked so as to
show a light from S.E. round southerly to S.,
to guide vessels in clear of the outer reefs.

These four (4) harbour lights, viz., Port Al-
bert, Portland Bay, Port Fairy, and Warrnam-
bool, will be exhibited on the evening of the 1st
day of September next, and on every night
thereafter from sunset to sunrise.

A further notice will appear giving the range
and other particulars of these four harbor lights
before they are exhibited.

The bearings used in the above notice are
magnetic.
