THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Sir Edward B. Lytton, that in consequence of
the strong representations which have been
made to his Lordship of the inconvenience
likely to be occasioned to the publishers of
newspapers and to the public generally if the
proposed regulation be carried into effect with-
out a long previous notice, the Lords Commis-
sioners of the Treasury have, by a further war-
rant, postponed until the 1st Januury, 1860,
the period from which the additional charge
shall be levied.
The Postmaster-General requests that this
postponement may be communicated to the
Officers administering the Governments of Cey-
lon, Mauritius, and the several Australian
Colonies.
