zette, from time to time to suspend during such
time as may appear expedient, the operation of
any provision of the said Act, either throughout
the Colony, or in or at any particular district
or port to be defined or specified for the pur-
pose; and also to continue in force during such
time as may appear expedient, any provisions
of any Ordinance by the said Act expressed to
be repealed.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Gover-
nor, by and with the Advice and Consent of his
Executive Council, doth by this present Order,
suspend from the day of the date hereof, until
the 30th day of June, 1859, the operation of
Sections 127, 128, and 129 of the said Act
throughout the Colony of New Zealand, and
doth continue in force during such period the
operation of section 53 of an Ordinance enacted
by the Governor of New Zealand with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof,
intituled "An Ordinance to repeal within the
said Colony of New Zealand, an Act of the
Governor and Council of New South Wales
passed in the third year of Her present Ma-
jesty's Reign, intituled 'An Act to repeal an
Act relating to the Revenue of Customs in New
South Wales, and to provide for the general
regulation thereof;' and also, a certain other
Act of the said Governor and Council of New
South Wales, passed in the fourth year of the
Reign of Her said present Majesty, Queen
Victoria, intituled, 'An Act for increasing the
duties on spirits, wine, and other goods and
merchandize imported into the Colony of New
South Wales and its dependencies;' and which
said Acts of the Governor and Council of New
South Wales were adopted, and are now in
force within the said Colony of New Zealand
and its dependencies; and to make provision
for the collection of certain duties on goods im-
ported into, and for the general regulation of,
the Revenue of Customs in the Colony of New
Zealand and its dependencies."

in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

IN exercise of the power in me vested for
this purpose by "The Customs Regulation
Act, 1858," I, Thomas Gore Browne, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint that on and from the day of the
date hereof there shall be within the Province
of Nelson a Port, to be called the Port of
Wairau, the limits whereof shall be as follows:
The River Wairau, including the Opawa
branch, and so far inland as the navigation of
the Wairau and the Opawa respectively extends.

IN exercise of the powers in me for this pur-
pose vested by the "Customs Regulation
Act, 1858," I, Thomas Gore Browne, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint that the undermentioned Ports
shall be Warehousing Ports for the purposes
of "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858,"
viz.,

Monganui,
Russell,
Hokianga,
Wangarei,
Kaipara,
Auckland,
Kawhia,
New Plymouth,
Wanganui,
Wellington,
Napier,
Collingwood,
Nelson,
Wairan,
Lyttelton,
Dunedin,
Invercargill:

and do hereby approve of the same Ports as
for the Importation of Tobacco.

Given under my hand, at Auckland,
this 1st day of January, 1859.

of New Plymouth will be called the Province
of Taranaki, in accordance with the provi-
sion of the "Province of Taranaki Act,
