taking place in a colony, it exclusively belongs
to the Governor to state and explain to the
Officer Commanding the Troops the policy of
Her Majesty's Government, and the Military
measures by which that policy is to be obtained,
but it rests with the Officer Commanding the
Troops alone to direct the execution of those
measures.
Officers Commanding at the several Foreign
Station will be pleased to give directions that
the above Instructions be officially recorded at
the Stations under their command, as contem-
plated at page 344 of The Queen's Regulations
and Orders for the Army.
