NOTICE OF HEARING.

Court of Claims, Auckland, December 15, 1858.

PURSUANT to the "Lands Claims Settlement Act, 1856," the Claims specified in the
annexed Schedule will be investigated in open Court, at Auckland, on Satur-
day, the 8th day of January next, and following days, at which time and place the
Claimants and all parties interested are required to attend, with their witnesses, and the original
deeds or documents relating to the respective claims.

SCHEDULE.

Claimant. Where situated. Nature of Claim.
John Ruby Hatfield. At the head of the River Weiti. This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 217, dated 17th June 1845 for 900 acres. Commissioner Matson reported 18th July 1848 that claimant had not sent in a Survey.
William Hay. Near the source of the Manukau. This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 173, dated 24th February 1845 for 990 acres. The case was investigated by Commissioner Matson, 8th April 1848. Disallowed 6th October 1848.
Alexander Shepherd. On the Island of Waiheki at the Point called Te Patu. This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 77, dated 5th December, 1844, for 700 acres in favor of Frederick Whitaker. Commissioner Matson re- ported 2nd May, 1848, that the Survey had not been sent in. Claim thereupon disallowed 12th June, 1848.
Frederick Whitaker. Pikau on the Island of Waiheke. This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 107, for 700 acres, dated 23rd December 1844, in favor of John Halls. Commissioner Matson reported 3rd May 1848 that the Survey had not been sent in. Claim thereupon disallowed 12th June 1848.
Frederick Whitaker. On the Great Barrier Island, This is a claim under Pre-emption Certificate No. 69, for 1500 acres, dated 3rd November 1844. Commissioner Matson reported 2nd May 1848 that no Survey had been sent in. Claim thereupon disallowed 12th June 1848.
John Peter du Moulin. On the Great Barrier Island. This is a claim for 2000 acres under Pre-emption certificate, No. 70, dated 3rd November 1844. Commissioner Matson reported 2nd May 1848 that no survey had been sent in: Claim thereupon disallowed 12th June 1848.
Charles de Witte. Matiatia, on the Island of Waiheki. This is a claim for 200 acres in favour of Madame Adèle de Witte Neé Gilliodts, under Pre-emption certificate No. 140 dated 14th January 1845. Commissioner Matson reported 3rd May 1848 that no survey had been sent in: claim thereupon disallowed 12th June 1848.
