THE HORNBY LIGHT.
The Lighthouse on the edge of the cliff
forming the Inner South Head, at the entrance
of Fort Jackson, being now completed and the
light exhibited, it is hereby notified, for gene..
ral information, that the same shall be desig-
nated the "Hornby Light."

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to
be notified that so much of the notices
of the 14th and 24th July, 1857, published in
Gazettes Nos. 18 and 19 of the 14thand 27th
July, 1857, as relates to the authority given to
certain officers to grant licenses for the importa-
tion of arms, has been revoked, and that the
Colonial Treasurer, to whom all applications for
the future must be made, is the only person
authorised to grant licenses for the importation
of arms into the Provinces of Auckland and
New Plymouth.

building, situated near the Haven Road,
the property of the Dun Mountain Mining Com-
pany has been approved (under the 34th sec-
tion of the Customs Ordinance, 1841,) as a
warehouse for the reception of railway and
mining materials under bond at this port.
