THE following Ordinance passed by the
Superintendent and Provincial Council of
the Province of New Plymouth, intituled
"Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,"
having been laid before the Governor in con-
formity with the provisions of the Constitution
Act, his Excellency has been pleased to leave
the same to its operation.

TENDERS FOR FIREWOOD.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, April 23rd, 1858.
TENDERS will be received at this office
until noon of Friday, the 30th instant, for
furnishing the General Government with Fire-
wood, in such quantities as may be required
during the six months commencing the 1st of
May next.
Rate to be specified at per ton for the usual
size, and also for such as may be required to
be cut and split to a size to suit the fire-places
in the Public Offices, to be delivered at the
several Public Offices.

mentioned Warehouse has been approved
under the 34th Section of the Ordinance of
the Governor and Council of New Zealand,
4th Victoria, No. 3, for the reception of goods
under bond, viz.-a portion of a wood and iron
warehouse, situate at the mouth of the Aorere
River, the property of William Gibbs.
