NOTICE OF HEARING.
Court of Claims, Auckland, February 4th, 1857.

PURSUANT to the "Land Claims Settlement Act, 1856," the Claims specified in the
annexed Schedule will be heard in open Court, at the General Assembly House, in
Auckland, on Monday, the 2nd day of March next, at noon; at which time and place the
Claimants and all parties interested are required to attend, with their witnesses and the
original deeds or documents relating to the respective claims.

John Maxwell, James Maxwell, Robert Maxwell, George Maxwell, Patrick Maxwell, Andrew Maxwell, Children of Thomas Maxwell, deceased Robert Graham ...... Not stated. Island of Motutapu. Alleged to have been purchased by Thomas Maxwell, deceased, from the natives, in the year 1840. This claim was an original land claim, No. 165a, reported upon by Commissioner Godfrey on the 1st July, 1843, and subsequently reopened and reported on by Commissioner FitzGerald, on the 21st August, 1844; but no grant issued in respect thereof.
1500 The same. Alleged to have been purchased under Preëmp- tion Certificate No. 204, dated 14th May, 1845, and issued in favour of James Williamson and Thomas Crummer. This claim was disallowed, but a grant prepared and executed for 86a. Or. 12p., which grant has not been taken up.
