  1. Repealing 17th section of "Marriage
    Act, 1854."
  2. In certain cases Judge of Supreme Court
    may consent to marriage of Infants.

AN ACT to amend the "Marriage Act, 1854."
(Assented to 29th July, 1856.)

Preamble.
WHEREAS by the seventeenth Section of the "Marriage Act,
1854," it is provided that, in certain cases, the consent of a
Judge of the Supreme Court to the marriage of a person under age
may be substituted for the consent of the father, guardian, or mo-
ther of such person. AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the said
provision be amended:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New
Zealand as follows:
