HIS Excellency the Governor is pleased to
notify general information that he
has received a despatch from the Right Hon.
Henry Labouchere, one of Her Majesty's
Principal Secretaries of State, stating that
Her Majesty had approved of the appointment
of the undermentioned gentleman to a seat in
the Legislative Council of the General As-
sembly, and transmitting a Warrant under the
Royal Sign Manual and Signet, authorising
his being summoned to that Council accord-
ingly.

RICHARD WESTENRA, Esq.,
having requested that his name should be re-
move from the Commission of the Peace for
the Province of Canterbury, His Excellency
has complied with his request.
