FRANCIS DART FENTON, Esq.,
to be Acting Commissioner of Crown Lands,
Resident Magistrate, and Registrar of Mar-
riages at Ahuriri, Hawkes' Bay, during the
absence of ALFRED DOMETT, Esq.

By His Excellency's command,

NOTICE is hereby given, that at the next
Session of the General Assembly to be
holden for the Colony of New Zealand, a Pe-
tition will be presented to the House of Repre-
sentatives for leave to bring in a Bill to em-
power the Trustees of a certain allotment or
parcel of Land, and Buildings thereon, situated
in Bridge-street and Waimea-street, in the
Town of Nelson, in the Province of Nelson,
in New Zealand, now used as a Chapel and
School-house by the people called Methodists,
in the Connexion established by the late Revd.
John Wesley, to sell and dispose of the same,
and to lay out and invest the proceeds arising
from such sale and disposition, in the purchase
of a more appropriate site for and the erec-
tion thereon of Buildings to be appropriated
for and used by the said people called Metho-
dists, in the Connexion aforesaid, as a Chapel
and School-house.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor ISAAC EARL FEATHERSTON,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Pro-
vince of Wellington, in the Islands of
New Zealand.

WHEREAS in the third Session of the
Provincial Council of Wellington held
in the 19th year of Her Majesty Queen Vic-
toria, an Act was passed intituled "an Act to
enlarge the Provincial Council"; and whereas
the said Act was presented to me for the assent
of his Excellency the Governor of New Zea-
land on the 21st day of January last, and was
then reserved by me for his Excellency's assent
or disallowance; and whereas his Excellency
has been pleased to assent to the said Act;
Now, I, the said Isaac Earl Featherston, Super-
intendent of the Province of Wellington do
hereby proclaim that his Excellency Colonel
THOMAS GORE BROWNE, the Governor of New
Zealand, has assented to the said Act and that
I received the signification of his Excellency's
assent on the 15th day of April, 1856.

Given under my hand at Auckland, in
New Zealand, this 16th day of April,
1856.
