- The sums paid into the Provincial Chest by the Collectors of the General Revenue during the period of this
Statement amount to £2,207 12s. 5d.; from this amount has been deducted £428 2s. 11d. The latter sum was inadver-
tently shewn in the statement for the nine months ending 30th September, 1853, as a payment to the Provincial
Treasurer, but it was actually paid into the General Chest by the Collector of Customs to meet expenses incurred for
Provincial purposes. As the two Statements now stand the payments made into the Provincial Chest at New Ply-
mouth since the establishment of the Province up to the 30th June, 1854, amount to £2207 18s. 5d., which is the correct sum,
