25th. The small marauding parties of the enemy
have ceased since the 19th, and a serious quarrel took
place amongst them on the evening of the 23rd. Ano-

The Colonial Treasurer moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in com-
mittee of the 'Paper Currency Bill.'
Bill further amended, and committee ad-
journed until Thursday next.
The Colonial Secretary moved the order of
the day for the consideration in committee of
the 'Slaughter house Bill.'
Bill considered and amended, and ordered
to be printed, with the several new clauses
proposed by Mr. Merriman.
Committee adjourned until Thursday next.
The first reading of the 'Impounding Bill'
further postponed until Thursday next.
Mr. Brown gave notice that he should at a
subsequent meeting of the Council, move for a
Return shewing the amount of Fines received
on conviction of offenders, by information of
constables, and to what purposes they were ap-
propriated.
Council adjourned at 5 o'clock, until 2
o'clock on Thursday, 26th inst.
