Property Rate Office,
Auckland, 18th February, 1845,

A QUARTER'S Rate under the provisions
of the Property Ordinance, having be-
come due on the 1st instant, the attention of
the Public is drawn to the following Section of
that Ordinance;—

"§ 12. If any Rate or Composition payable
on any of the aforesaid Quarter days, shall re-
main in arrear for the space of one calendar
month, or upwards, such Rate or Composition
shall thereupon and thereafter be increased one-
fourth part thereof for every calendar month for
which it shall have been in arrear."

SUPREME COURT.

NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of
the Supreme Court for the despatch of
criminal business, will be holden at the Court
House, Auckland, on Saturday, the first day of
March next, at ten o'clock in the forenoon;
and that a Sitting for the despatch of civil bu-
siness, will be holden at the Court House, on
Friday, the seventh day of March next, at the
hour of ten o'clock in the forenoon—at which
times and place all persons under recognizances
to appear, either as prosecutors, defendants, or
witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

of the provisions of the Imprisonment
for Debt Ordinance, Session 3, No. 7, the
Court will sit at Auckland, on Wednesday, the
fifth day of March, 1845, for the hearing of
applications for relief, and for the despatch of
all business arising under the provisions of the
above Ordinance.

Town and District of Auckland, will be
holden on Tuesday, the 4th day of March next,
at the Police Office, Auckland, at eleven o'clock
in the forenoon, for the purpose of receiving
Applications for the Transfer of Publicans' Li-
censes.
