HIS Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to direct it to be notified for
general information, that persons intending to
apply for Private Ordinances during the ensu-
ing Session of the Legislative Council, must
transmit drafts of the Bills to the Clerk of
Councils, on or before the 31st day of May next.

Custom-House, Auckland,
10th May, 1844.
NO Vessel will be cleared outwards in future
unless the Manifest is declared to and the
papers lodged at this Office before twelve o'clock
noon.
The Landing Waiter's warrants, with certis-
cates endorsed thereon of the goods having
been duly shipped, and that Officers certificate
of the vessel having been duly cleared Inwards
and Outwards, will also be required previous
to the vessel being allowed to clear.
It is further necessary that the Export Entries
for goods or stores to be exported from the
Bonding Warehouses, should be passed the day
before a vessel clears.

NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of
the Supreme Court for the dispatch of
Criminal Business, will be holden at the Court
House in Auckland, on Saturday the 1st day of
June next, at Ten o'clock in the forenoon, at
which time and place all persons under Recog-
nizances to appear either as Prosecutors, Defend-
ants, or Witnesses, are required to give their
attendance.

Court House, Mulgrave-street, Wellington, or
in default thereof, they will be peremptorily ex-
cluded from all benefit arising from the said
