Case No. 439-DAVID SCOTT, of Bay of Islands,
claintaint
14, One acre and a half, more or less, situate
in the harbour of Port Nicholson, at the Kumu-
totot Pah, bounded as follows: On the E. by
the harbour of Port. Nicholson, from Kumutoto
Creek about 400 feet northwards to the next
small creek, falling into the harbour; on the N.
by the said small creek about 100 feet back
from the beach; on the W. from the said small
creek along the brow of the hill at the back
about 400 feet to Kumutoto creek at its first
turn and on the by the said creek to the
harbour about 200 feet.
Alleged to have been purchased by claimant
from the Native Chief E Mare, on the 31st
March, 1831.
Consideration given to the Natives-One
hundred pound cask of gunpowder, value
£8 15s..
Nature of conveyance-Memorandum of
sale in writing in favor of claimant, of above
I also give further NOTICE, that on Wed-
nesday the 8th of February instant, I shall open
my Court at Wellington to proceed
to hear any further evidence in such of the
cases already advertised in the New Zealand
Government Gazettes of the 9th March and 6th
April, 1842, and in the New Zealand Gazette
and Wellington Spectator of the 27th April,
1842, and four following numbers of that paper,
as have already been commenced, but not com-
pleted; and also to investigate any of the
remainder of such cases as have not yet been
entered upon. In order to give claimants every
opportunity of bringing their Native witnesses,
before me, I have made the following arrange-
ments for holding my Courts in this district
previous to closing my sittings-
After remaining at Wellington to examine
such witnesses as may be brought before me
there, I shall proceed to Poriruá, Waikainai,
Otaki, Mariawatu, and Wanganui, aforesaid,
and hold a Court at each place. On leaving
Wanganui, I shall return back by the same
route, and again open a Court at each of the
said places.
I shall then hold my Court at Wellington, to
hear all such of the aforesaid claims as have
not been previously brought before me; and
also to examine any further witnesses in any
of those cases that have not been completed.
All parties are hereby summoned to be in
attendance with their witnesses, and they will
be required to produce before me all original
deeds and translations thereof, relating to their
claims, with attested copies of the same, the
latter to be left with me.
Claimants are reminded that the fee of £5
must be paid to me before the investigation of
any claim, or of any opposition thereto...

N OTICE is hereby given to the Purchasers
of Suburban Lots, who have been unable
to attend on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Instant, for
the purpose of having their boundaries pointed
out, according to the Notice of the 21st January,
in the Government Gazette; that a Surveyor
will be in attendance on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and
4th, of March next, for that purpose, after
which no application will be attended to.

A SPECIAL MEETING of the Justices for
the Town and District of Auckland, will
be holden on Tuesday, the 7th day of March,
at the Police Office, Auckland, at 11 o'clock
in the forenoon, for the purpose of receiving
applications for the transfer of Publican's
Licenses.
