THE TOWN Lots advertised in the Government Gazette, by the Proclamation dated the
28th November, 1842, have, (with the exception of Lots Nos. 5 to 12. inclusive, and
Nos. 14 to 20, inclusive), been sold to the under-mentioned Parties, by Auction, at Auckland,
on the 23rd January, 1843, and the price affixed to each respectively has been received.

NEW ZEALAND LAND CLAIMS NOTICE
OF HEARING.
Land Claims Office,
Wellington, February 3, 1843.
I, WILLIAM SPAIN, a Commissioner ap-
pointed for investigating and determining
upon Titles and Claims to Land in New Zea-
land, do hereby give notice that I shall proceed
to investigate the undermentioned Claims at my
office, in Wellington, Port Nicholson, or at
Porirua, Waikainai, Otaki, Manawatu, and
Wanganui, alias Petre, (the times of holding
my Court, at each of the aforesaid places, being
hereinafter stated, as far as will
permit,) on Friday, the 24th day of February,
and following days, at 10 o'clock in the fore-
noon.
Case No. 99 (b)-JOHN GUARD, of Cloudy Bay,
claimant.
A piece of land, contents not stated, situated
at Fort Nicholson, bounded by the Korokoro,
and from thence running to Heretanga, or fresh
water river.
Alleged to have been given to claimant by the
Native Chiefs Ahie and Wononga, on the
19th September, 1839.
Consideration-various services rendered.
Nature of conveyance-not stated.
Case No. 191--FREDERICK PETERSON of Sydney,
Merchant, claimant.
23,040 acres more or less, lying all that piece
or parcel of land situate on the North Island of
New Zealand, in Cook's Straits, being E.S.E.
from the southern point of Kapiti or Entry
food, and known b and, and known by the name of Wainui, a
small river of fresh water running into Cook's
Straits, the said parcel of land extending one
mile frontage to the north of the mouth of said
river, and running east twelve miles, and also
two miles frontage to the south of the mouth of
the said river, and running east twelve miles
from the beach of Cook's Straits.
