the Government directs it to be notified
that a Despatch has been received from the
Right Honorable the Secretary of State for the
Colonies, intimating the approval, by Her Ma-
jesty's Government, of the appointment of
CHARLES DE WITTE, Esquire,
to the Office of Consul for the Belgian Govern-
ment, in this Colony.

HIS Excellency the Officer Administering
the Government directs it to be notified,
that the under-mentioned Lot of Land, which
had been offered to Public Competition on the
18th of September last, in pursuance of a Pro-
clamation dated the 15th of August, 1843, (but
not sold on that day), has subsequently been
disposed of to Mr. Alexander McKay, at the
price below stated.
Country Lot No. 3, situate on the River Wao,
containing forty-three acres, more or less.-
Price Β£1 per acre.
