NOTICE OF HEARING.

I MATHEW RICHMOND, a Commissioner
appointed to examine and report upon
Claims to Grants of Land in New Zealand, do
hereby give Notice, that, in addition to those
notified in the Supplement to the Government
Gazette of the 5th April last, I shall proceed to Investi-
gate the following Claims at Hauraki, River
Thames, the residence of Mr. Preece, of the
Church Missionary Society, on the 8th of June,
1843, and following days, at ten o'clock in the
forenoon.
The Sittings of my Court will be continued
at the aforesaid place until the 8th of July,
1843.
All Parties interested are hereby summoned
to be in attendance, with their witnesses and
original deeds and documents, and copies thereof,
(with translations if in Maori), the latter to re-
main with the Commissioner; and Claimants
are reminded, that the Fee of Five pounds must
be paid to the Commissioner before the Investi-
gation of any Claim, or of any opposition thereto.
Case No. 444.-T. CHAPMAN, of Tauranga,
on behalf of the Church Missionary Society,
claimant.
500, Five hundred acres, more or less, situ-
ated on the north side of Purire river; bounded
on the Wairoa, terminated on the east by Ra-
pawawake.
Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chiefs Turua, Tahu, and others, by
claimant on the 1st of January, 1835.
Consideration—Merchandise value not stat-
ed, and 20 Dollars.
Nature of conveyance—Deed in the Native
language.
Case No. 444 (a.)—T. CHAPMAN, of Tauranga,
on behalf of the Church Missionary Society,
claimant.
20, Twenty acres, more or less, situated at
Matamata, known by the name of Kauwauwau-
nui, boundaries not given.
Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chief Waharoa, by claimant in the
year 1835.
Consideration—Merchandise, value not stated.
Case No. 444 (b.)—T. CHAPMAN, of Tauranga,
on behalf of the Church Missionary Society,
claimant.
200, Two hundred acres, more or less, situ-
ated on the eastern bank of the Thames, from
below Koro Koro, to the river Waiwakanga, and
to the side of Hauhauru, going up to Kaipapaka,
thence to Waiiti; thence to Waika Kia, cros-
sing the hill to Oruroa and Pakeoraka, on the
east side to Hine Ngako and terminating in
the valley.
Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chiefs, Tama, Tapu, Mapu and
others, by claimant on the 21st of October,
1836.
Consideration—merchandise, value not stated.
Nature of conveyance—Deed in the native
language.
