THe following claim having been previously
advertised for hearing by William Spain,
Esq., at Port Nicholson, in the Gazette of the
1st March, 1843, will not be investigated at
Akaroa, as erroneously advertised in the Gazette
of the 29th March, 1843.
Case No. 481—ARCHIBALD WILSON, of Sydney,
claimant.
2,002, Two thousand and two acres, at
Otoki.
Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chief Watenati, on the 2d October,
1839, by Hay and Wright.
Consideration—not stated.
Nature of conveyance—deed to Mr. Hay,
dated 2d October, 1839.

NOTICE OF HEARING.
Land Commissioners Office,
15th April, 1843.
I, MATHEW RICHMOND, a Commis-
sioner appointed to examine and report
upon Claims to Grants of Land in New Zealand,
do hereby give notice, that I shall proceed to
Investigate the following Claims, at Hauraki,
River Thames, the residence of Mr. Preece, of
the Church Missionary Society, on the 8th of
June, 1843, and following days, at 10 o'clock
in the forenoon.
at the aforesaid place until the 8th of July,
1843.
All parties interested are hereby summoned
to be in attendance, with their witnesses and
original deeds and documents, and copies thereof,
(with translations if in Maori), the latter to re-
main with the Commissioner; and Claimants
are reminded, that the fee of five pounds mu-
be paid to the Commissioner before the investi-
gation of any Claim, or of any opposition
thereto.
Case No. 236,—WILLIAM WALSH, and D.
WALSH, of the River Thames, claimants.
All that piece or pareel of land comprising
about one half of the Island or Peninsula of
Wanganui. (Contents not stated.)
Aleged to have been purchased in December,
1836, from certain native chiefs not named,
by Mr. William M'Leod, who sold and con-
veyed to claimants.
Consideration—Merchandise to the amount
of £150 sterling.
Nature of original conveyance—Deed in
favor of M'Leod, dated 8th December, 1836.
Case, No. 345—J. COMMINS, and W. MAC-
KENZIE, of Waite, claimants.
A portion of land situated about fifteen miles
up the river Waite, and is about twenty-five
miles above Kouronga, extending about three
miles along the banks of the said River, and
one and a half miles back.
Alleged to have been purchased from the na-
tive chiefs Rangannu, Hori, Tikiore, and
others, on the 7th December, 1839, by
William Smith and George Crawford, who
sold to claimants.
Consideration given to the natives—not
stated.
Nature of conveyance—A deed witnessed by
William Johnson and Wm. Cunningham.
