COUNTY COURT.
N OTICE is hereby given, that a sitting of
the County Court, for the despatch of
criminal business, will be holden at the Court
House, at Kororareka, Bay of Islands, on Tues-
day the 17th day of January next, at 10 o'clock
in the forenoon, at which time and place, all
persons under recognizances to appear either as
prosecutors, defendants or witnesses, are required
to give their attendance.
The Court will be open for the despatch of
civil business on the following day.

NOTICE OF HEARING.
Land Commissioners' Office,
Hokianga, 12th December, 1842.
I, MATHEW RICHMOND, a Commis-
sioner appointed to examine and report
upon Claims to Grants of Land, do hereby give
notice that I will investigate, at Hokianga, on
Monday, the 2nd day of January, 1843, and
following days, the undermentioned claim, pre-
viously advertised for hearing before Edward
Lee Godfrey, Esq., at Wangaroa, in the Govern-
ment Gazette of the 17th August, 1842.
Case No. 243 (d)—WILLIAM WHITE, of Hoki-
anga, claimant.
500, Five hundred acres, more or less, at
Horea, Waingaroa, on the north side of the
harbour, extending about one mile along the
coast to a point called Rangitoto, and up the
harbour the same distance to a place called
Titiki Orereato, and thence inland to a ridge
hills extending towards the aforementioned boun-
daries on the coast Rangitoto.
Alleged to have been purchased by claimant
in 1836, from the native chiefs Riwiri, Noa,
Ruka, and Epanaia.
Consideration given to the natives—cash and
goods amounting to £32 2s. sterling.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.
