GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, 14th October, 1842.
TENDERS will be received at this Office
until Monday, the 14th day of November,
next, at noon, for the supply of such articles
specified in the subjoined List, as may be re-
quired by Government from the 1st of January
to the 31st of December, 1843.
STATIONERY, CONSISTING OFβ
- Paper, Demy, Royal, and Foolscap, plain and
ruled blue lines. - Foolscap, 1st and 2nd quality, cut and
uncut, - Letter and Note, first quality,
- Blotting, brown and cartridge,
- Printing, double-demy
- Drawing, of sizes,
Quills, and steel pens,
Printing Ink, writing ink, or Ink Powder,
Sealing-wax, wafers, and wafer stamps,
Paper and pen-knives,
Account and Letter Books,
Rulers, pencils, Indian-rubber, Lucifer matches,
Red tape, green ribbon, and silk cord,
Milled and paste-board, and Calf-skin for
Bookbinding,
Parchment.
BARTER, CONSISTING OFβ
Blankets,
Frock, body, and Pilot coats,
Check and Regatta shirts
Fine and common blue cloth and moleskin
trowsers,
Fine cloth caps
Waistcoats,
Cotton gown pieces,
Tobacco, and large bowl pipes.
All articles specified in the foregoing List are
to be of the best quality of their respective
kinds.
As adequate security will be required for the
due fulfilment of the Contract, no Tender will
be taken into consideration unless it be accom-
panied by a certificate from the parties who
may be proposed as Sureties, stating that they
are willing to become bound for the Contractor,
and the bonds must be executed within ten days
from the date of the notification of the accept-
ance of the Tender; failing of which the Con-
tracts will be again advertized, or another
Tender accepted.
The Tenders are also to contain the names of
the Tenderers and of their Sureties, and their
respective places of residence, at full length.
The price of each article is to be set forth
plainly, both in words and figures, and is to in-
clude the value of such packages as the several
articles may be contained in.
Tenders will be received from parties who
may be desirous to furnish some, though not
all, of the articles specified in the above list.
The Tenders are to be enclosed in a separate
envelope, and to be indorsed "Tender for Sta-
tionery," "Tender for Barter," &c., as the
case may be.
For further particulars regarding the terms of
payment, and other conditions of the Contract,
and of the probable quantity and description of
articles which may be required, parties desirous
to Tender are referred to the Colonial Store-
keeper, to whom the several articles will be re-
quired to be delivered.
