nui, claimant.

4000, Four thousand acres, more or less,
situated on the sea coast between Doubtless Bay
and Wangaroa, adjoining claim 370 b, extend-
ing along the sea-coast towards Wangaroa,
about $2\frac{1}{2}$ miles, to Towarna.

Alleged to have been purchased from t. e
native chiefs Ataka, Atapu, and others, by
claimant, in 1839.

Consideration: goods, and £120 sterling.

2000, Two thousand acres, more or less,
situated on the banks of the Puttagaga, about 4
miles from the harbour of Munganui, in Doubt-
less Bay; adjoining Kumera, and running up
the river 2 miles and inwards 2 miles.

Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chief Toomoaroo, and others, by
claimant, in 1839.

No. 371. WILLIAM WRIGHT, of Munganui,
claimant.

20, Twenty acres, more or less, situated at
Munganui, Doubtless Bay; on the north, ad-
joining J. Bergan's claim and on the south, by
Mr. Cooper's claim.

Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chiefs Warahowie, and A Kiwa, by
claimant, in 1839.

Consideration: £6 6s. cash, and goods.

claimant.

A piece of land called Pattatoo Bookee Bookee,
commencing from the mouth of a creek leading
to Wangaroa, including two small green patches
of timber.

claimant.

640, Six hundred and forty acres, more or
less, called Piefeenor, situated in the harbour of
Munganui, in Doubtless Bay, and bounded by
water.

Alleged to have been purchased by claimant,
in 1838, from native chiefs not named.

Consideration: goods to the amount of £47
17s. sterling.

No. 375 b. WILLIAM BUTLER, of Munganui,
claimant.

3,000, Three thousand acres, more or less,
situated on the river Putakaka, in the harbour
of Munganui; bounded on the south-east by a
claim of C. Partridge; on the north-west by a
claim of T. Ryan, and called Bookacowa.

Alleged to have been purchased by claimant,
in 1839, from native chiefs not named.

Consideration: goods, value £60 sterling.
Nature of conveyance: not stated.

No. 389. The Wesleyan Missionary Society per
JOHN HOBBS, and WM. MOON, claimant.

50, Fifty acres, more or less, situated at Wan-
garoa; bounded on the east by a small wood
and gulley, on the west by a road, on the north
by a river, and on the south by the rising ground
above, where the mission house stands.

Alleged to have been purchased by Samuel
Leigh, in 1823, from the native chiefs
George Ara, Tepuhi, and Eura.

No. 406. JOHN LANDER, of Wangaroa,
claimant.

150, One hundred and fifty acres, more or
less, on the river Kaio; bounded on the south
by a claim of Mr. Spikman; on the west by a
flat on the banks of a river; on the east by
a range of hills, and on the north by Motutapu.

Alleged to have been purchased by John
Johnson and claimant in 1838, from the
native chiefs Uduroa, Hongi, and others.

Consideration: cash £6, and goods.
Nature of conveyance: not stated.

No. 406 a. JOHN LANDER, of Wangaroa,
claimant.

12, Twelve acres, on the river Kaio; bounded
on the south by the river; on the east by a
range of hills forming the boundary to Mr.
Spikman's claim; on the north by land claimed
by John Lander, and on the west by the creek
Kokopona.

Alleged to have been purchased by claimant
on the 6th of January, 1840, from the native
chiefs Na Tori, and others.

Consideration: cash £3, and goods.
