NOTICE OF HEARING.

Land Commissioners Office,
Auckland, 14th August, 1842.

I EDWARD LEE GODFREY, a Commis-
sioner appointed to examine and report
upon Claims to Grants of Land, do hereby give
notice, that I will proceed to investigate the un-
dermentioned, at Wangaroa, on Thursday, the
8th day of December, 1842; at Manganui, on
Monday the 9th day of January, 1843; and at
Kaitaia on Wednesday the 8th day of Febru-
ary, 1843, and following days, at 10 o'clock in
the forenoon. All parties interested are hereby
summoned to be in attendance, with their docu-
ments and witnesses; and they are reminded
that the fee of Five Pounds must be paid to
the Commissioner before the investigation of any
claim or of any opposition thereto. Claimants
are also required to bring all original Deeds,
(and translations thereof, if in the Maori lan-
guage,) relating to their claims—with copies
of the same,—the latter to remain with the
Commissioner.

No. 60 c.—CHARLES HENRY CHAMBERS, of
Sydney, claimant.
600, Six hundred acres, more or less, situated
at Wangaroa, on the sea coast, between Wan-
geroa and the Bay of Islands.
Alleged to have been purchased on the 13th
January, 1840, from the native chiefs, Ma-
die, Hakia, Maitui, and others, by Jeremiah
McCrohon for claimant.
Consideration — goods amounting £34 6s.
sterling.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.

No. 76.—RANULPH DACRE, Esq., of Sydney,
claimant.
5,000, Five thousand acres, more or less, at
Magnanui.
Alleged to have been purchased by Captain
John Skelton, as agent for claimant, in
1831, from the native chiefs of Manganui.
Consideration—goods, value £70 sterling.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.

No. 78.—JAMES DAVIS, of Waimate, claimant.
5,000, Five thousand acres, more or less, in
Sandy Bay, about twelve miles south-west of
Knuckle Point.
Alleged to have been purchased by claimant
in 1839, from the native chiefs Nopera,
Parakareao, and others.
Consideration—Cash £60 sterling.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.

No. 79.—PATRICK DONOVAN, of Kororarika,
claimant.
20, Twenty acres, more or less, at Wanga-
roa, and called Waipuna; bounded on the one
side by the harbour of Wangaroa, and on all
other sides by land of the natives.
