Instruments affecting real property," it is enacted
that there shall be established in every County
or District, as the case may be, within the Colo-
ny an office which shall be called the " Register
Office," for registering in manner thereinafter
directed, the Deeds, Wills and Memorials, there-
by authorized to be registered, And whereas it
is thereby further enacted, that the said Ordi-
nance shall come into operation within any
County or District, at such time as His Excel-
lency the Governor, with the advice of the Exe-
cutive Council, shall by proclamation appoint.
Now therefore I, the Governor, in pursuance
of the power and authority in me vested, by the
said in part recited Ordinance, do hereby, with
the advice of the Executive Council, appoint,
that the said Ordinance shall come into opera-
tion, within the County of Eden, on Monday,
the 15th day of August, next ensuing.
Given under my Hand and Seal, at
Government House, Auckland, this
27th day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty-two.

forming a part of the Common Gaol of Auck-
land, being the north ward thereof, will be used
as a House of Correction, and that
GEORGE M'ILWAIN
has this day been appointed the Keeper thereof.

Auckland, at the Office hitherto occupied by the
Commissioners of Claims.

NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of
the County Court for the despatch of
Criminal business, will be holden at the Court
House, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 16th day of
August, instant, at ten o'clock in the forenoon.
All persons under Recognizances to appear,
either as Prosecutors, Defendants, or Witnesses,
are required to give their attendance.
The Court will be open for the despatch of
Civil business on the following day.

trate, Auckland, a Special Meeting of the Jus-
tices of the District, for the purpose of receiving
applications for the Transfer of Licenses.
