THE attention of the Heads of De-
partments is particularly called
to the necessity for sending in to the
Office of the Colonial Secretary early
on Saturday, whatever is intended for
publication in the Governmennt Gazette
on the ensuing Wednesday, as non-at-
tention to this rule has in some instan-
ces delayed the publication of the Ga-
zette.

ed to appoint
WILLOUGHBY SHORTLAND, Esq., Colonial Secre-
tary, FELTON MATHEW, Esq., Chief Police
Magistrate, ROBERT A. FITZGERALD, Esq., Re-
gistrar General of Deeds,
to be Commissioners of the Board of Audit for
examining the Public Accounts of the Colony.

to be a Sub-Protector of Aborigines.

BRICKS.
NOTICE is hereby given that Tenders will be
received at this office, until noon on Tues-
day the 1st February next, from persons willing
to enter into a contract for supplying the Depart-
ment of Public Works with 90,000 (ninety thou-
sand) bricks, to be delivered either in Commercial
or Mechanics Bay, in quantities as required.
Security will be required for the due perform-
ance of the contract, and no tender will be enter-
tained, which is not accompanied by a letter from
two responsible parties, stating their willingness
to enter into a bond accordingly.
The Bond will require to be signed within one
week from the date of the certification of the ac-
ceptance of the tender.
Further information may be procured on appli-
cation at the Office of the Superintendent of
Public Works.
Parties tendering, or their agents, are requested
to attend at this office on the above mentioned
day.

NOTICE is hereby given, that all Advertise-
ments and communications intended to be
inserted in the "Te Karere o Nui Terene,"
(Maori Gazette) must be forwarded to the office
of the Chief Protector of Aborigines, on or before
the 20th of each month.
