HIS Excellency the GOVERNOR directs it to
be notified, that instructions have been
received froni the Right Honourable the Secre-
tary of State for the Colonies, intimating that
the Department of the Post Office in this Colony,
has been committed to the charge of George
Cooper, Esq., Collector of Her Majesty's Cus-
toms, who has been appointed Deputy-Post-
master-General of New Zealand.
The Department of the Post Office will be
accordingly transferred to the above Officer on
the 1st of July, next ensuing.

COURT OF CLAIMS.
THE Commissioners appointed to examine
and report upon Claims to Grants of
Land, hereby give notice to the under-mentioned
Claimants, whose Claims, in the district of
Auckland, were advertised for investigation on
the 3rd July, 1841, but the examinations of
which are incomplete. That they will examine
any witnesses upon these Claims during the sitt-
ings of the said Commissioner's Court at
Auckland, on the 13th day of June next, and
following days.
