be notified, that Her Majesty has been
pleased to appoint
ALEXANDER SHEPHERD, ESQ.,
to be Treasurer of New Zealand.

COUNTY COURT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of
the County Court for the despatch of
Criminal Business, will be holden at the Court
House, in Auckland, on WEDNESDAY, the 18th
day of MAY, instant, at ten o'clock in the fore-
noon; at which time and place, all Persons
under Recognizances to appear either as Pro-
secutors, Defendants, or Witnesses, are required
to give their attendance.
The Court will be open for the despatch of
Civil Business on the following day.

NOTICE
IS hereby given that until further notice the
House belonging to James Harris, lately
occupied as a Council Office, in Eden Crescent,
will be used as a temporary Custom House.

TO MASONS AND CARPENTERS.
TENDERS will be received at this Office
until noon of Wednesday, the 18th in-
stant, from Persons willing to enter into a
Contract for the Erection of a House on Mount
Victoria for the Signal Man.
Full particulars may be obtained, and plans
and specifications may be seen, at the Office of
the Superintendant of Public Works.
As security will be required for the due fulfil-
ment of the Contract within a stated time, it
will be necessary that the Tenders be accom-
panied by a certificate from two responsible
persons, stating their willingness to enter into a
bond accordingly. The bond will require to be
signed within one week from the date of the
notification of the acceptance of the Tender.

SALE OF SUBURBAN ALLOTMENTS.
AT eleven o'clock on Monday the sixteer.th
day of May next, previously advertised for
the second proximo, the Colonial Treasurer will
put up to AUCTION, at the Treasury, the under-
mentioned SUBURBAN ALLOTMENTS, on the Term
authorized by Government.
