Maoranga, Mhorina, Tunia, Te Witu Mare,
Etaki, Eota, Paroki, Enghia, for himself
and brothers, Rangaihiro, Itahanga, and

The whole of the lands, islands, tenements,
wonda, baye, harbours, rivers, streams, and
creeks, which were in possession of the sellers,
or to which they laid claim, anin which they had
any rights or interests, on the southern as well
as the northern shore of Cook's Straits, compri-
sing all those lands, islands, tenements, woode,
bays, harbours, rivers, streams and creeks, situ-
ate on the southern shore of Cook's Straits,
which are bounded on the south by the parallel
of the forty third degree of south latitude, and
on the est, north and east by the sea, sea, inclu- inclu
ding Taitah, Wanganui, Opatura or Cape Fare-
well, Pakawao, Takaka, Tromiti, Motnoka,
Waimea, Okatu, Okapuaha, Kaiana and Hoiano
in Blind Bay, Rangitoto or D'Urville's island,
the Oxerri or Pelorus River, Admiralty Bay,
and the several islands of Motungarada, Kurara,
Kakado, and Nguish, Omahanga or Port Gore,
in Queen Charlotte's Sound and the Tory
Channel, including Metaka wae, Anuho, Oko-
kata, Marototoo or Ship Cove, Te Kurakura or
Shag Cove, Panarawthi or West Bay, Waoau,
Mireta, Te Era, Wahine, Onakiwa, Nakuta,
Te Waringa, Waitohi, Watamung, Kotuna, Ita-
wa, Ohna, Mohio, Te Tio or Oyster Bay, Onarua
Onora, Ngaitui: the islands of Alaoamai, inelu-
ding Okikari, Wekanui, and East Bay, the islands
of Motuara, Kieta or Long Island, Matapara and
Tai Kaiopi, Wanganui or Cloudy Bay, the River
or Cape Campbell, Waipapa, Mangamaonu,
Kaihora, Aitiu, Peketa,, Yekiakia, Onui Te,
Whanga, and also comprising all the lands,
islands, tenements, woods bays, harbours, rivers,
streams and greeks, situate on the northern,
shore of the said Cook's Straits, which are boun-
ded on the north east by a direct line dawn,
from the southern head of the river or harbour,
of about thirty-eight degrees south to Cape Te
hukakore, situate on the east coast, in the lati-
titude of about forty-one degrees south, and on
the east, south and west by the sea, excepting
the islands of Kapiti or Entry Island, and the
small islands adjacent thereto, and the island of
Mana or Table Island, all situate on the said
northern shore of Cook's Straits, but including
Tehakakore, Warehama, Ranganachama, Wai-
nerah, Turakarai, Wanganui, Atea or Port Ni-
cholson, Rimerah, Oteranga, Omerai, Tuameno,
Oariu, Titahi, Pare us, Ohohika, Tirewarewa,
Weikenia, Wiamera, Otaki, Oweha, Manewahi,
Rangititi, Wangaiha, Turakanao, Wanganui,
Waitotaro, Whenuakura, Potea, Tangahohi,
Ngatiririnui, Pohokitaro Taranaki, Moturoa, and
the several other sagar loaf islands, and the ri-
ver and harbour of Makao.

from the native chiefs Ewiti, for himselt and
Ekedı, E Hawe, Ewitikari, Kauhaue, and
many others.

along the sea shore on the north of Cook's Straits
from Manewatu to Patea, and inland from either
of the said Points to the Volcano or mountain of
Tonga Ridi.
