PROCLAMATION.

By His EXCELLENCY WILLIAM HOBSON,
ESQUIRE, Captain in Her Ma-
jesty's Royal Navy, and Go-
vernor and Commander in
Chief in and over Her Majes-
ty's Colony of New Zealand,
and its Dependencies.

WHEREAS by a certain Ordinance of the
Governor, with the Advice and Consent of
the Legislative Council of the said Colony, passed in
the 4th and 5th years of the Reign of Her pre-
sent Majesty Queen VICTORIA, intituled, "An
"Ordinance for instituting and regulating the
"Courts of General and Quarter Sessions in the
"Colony of New Zealand, and to authorize the
"holding of Petty Sessions within the same, and
"for defining their respective powers, and deter-
mining the places at which the same shall be
"holden, and for repealing within the Colony of
"New Zealand, certain Acts of the Governor and
"Council of New South Wales adopted and now
"in force within the said Colony of New Zea-
"land," it is amongst other things enacted and
ordained, that it should be lawful for the Governor
for the time being, to appoint places at which
Petty Sessions should be holden.

Now I, the said Governor, in pursuance of the
power and authority so vested in me by the said in
part recited Ordinance, do hereby direct and ap-
point that the said Courts of Petty Sessions shall
be holden, during the present, and in each future
year, at the several and respective Places, and on
the Days and Times hereinafter respectively men-
tioned, that is to say, at
Auckland
Port Nicholson
Russell
Kororarika
Waimate
Hokianga
Munganui
Wangaroa
Kaipara
Mauranghi
Coromandel Harbour
Munakau
Kawia
Queen Charlotte's Sound
Cloudy Bay
Otago
Akaroa

Weekly, on every Tuesday, and such other days by
adjournment as the Justices shall find neessary.
