PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, a Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, and Governor of the Provinces of New Ulster and New Munster, and Vice Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS the undermentioned Ordinance, enacted by the Governor-in-Chief of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, was passed in the Fifteenth Year of the Reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, viz. :

Session XI., No. 2, \"An Ordinance to authorize the Governor to apply a potion of the Land Fund arising within a Municipal District at the instance of the Corporation thereof :\"

Now, therefore, I, the Governor-in-Chief of the New Zealand Islands, do hereby proclaim and make known to all whom it may concern, that Her Majesty has been graciously pleased to disallow the before mentioned Ordinance.

This Proclamation shall take effect from and after the day of the date hereof.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House, at Wellington, in the Province of New Munster, in the Islands aforesaid, this Twenty-ninth day of November, in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two.

HIS Excellency the LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR directs it to be notified for general information, that the GOVERNOR-IN-CHIEF, in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance, No. 16, Session VII., has been pleased to select and appoint

TE KEREI, a chief of Mokau,

to be a Native Assessor.

SMITHS' WORK, PAINTERS'

PLUMBERS' AND GLAZIER'S WORK.

Colonial Secretary's Office, Auckland,
December 1, 1852.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon on MONDAY, the 20th instant, from persons desirous of contracting for the performance of the above-named descriptions of work for the service of the Colonial Government during the six months commencing on the 1st of January next.

Information respecting the terms of payment, and other particulars, may be had on application to the Deputy Surveyor-General, from whom also forms of Tender may be obtained.

Security will be required for the due performance of the Contract, and the tenders should be accompanied by a notification of the consent of the parties who may be proposed as Sureties.

Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed \"Tender for [Smith's Work,\" or, as the case may be.
