TENDERS FOR SPARS.

HIS Excellency the LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR directs it to be notified that the time for receiving Tenders for supplying Spars for the service of Her Majesty's Navy has been further extended; and that, upon the receipt of the requisite information from the Naval Authorities, due notice will be given of the latest day upon which such Tenders can be received.

HIS Excellency the LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR directs it to be notified, for general information, that a Despatch has been received from EARL GREY, to the effect that Her Majesty's Government have been pleased to approve of the exertions of both Europeans and Natives, in assisting the shipwrecked crew of the French Frigate Alcmรจne; and further, it appearing to His Excellency from information which has been received, that the Natives were inadequately recompensed for their conduct on the occasion, by the making over to them of certain articles which were washed on shore, he has been pleased to authorize a donation of Ten Pounds to be paid to the Chiefs TIRARAU and PARORE.

HIS Excellency the LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR has been pleased to direct and appoint that at the forthcoming Election of persons to serve as Members for the Southern Division, there shall be an additional Polling Place at Howick, at such convenient place as shall be specified by the Returning Officer for the Southern Division.

NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR having been pleased to direct and appoint that there shall be an additional Polling Place at Howick, I, HENRY CHARLES LAWLOR, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Pensioner Settlements and the Southern Division, do now hereby notify that the Polling for the said districts will take place at the Court House, at Howick, on the 2nd day of September next, commencing at any time after nine, a.m., and closing at four o'clock of the afternoon of the same day.
