HIS Excellency the LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR directs it to be notified, for general information, that the GOVERNOR-IN-CHIEF has been pleased to make the following appointments, viz.,

JOSIAH FLIGHT, Esquire,
to be Resident Magistrate at New Plymouth, and Sub-Treasurer of the District of New Plymouth, in the room of Captain King, resigned; and

JOSIAH FLIGHT and P. WILSON, Esquires,
to be Inspectors of Schools for the Taranaki District, under the 6th clause of the Education Ordinance.

H. M. S. Pandora,
Auckland, 14th July, 1852.

TENDERS will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until two o'clock on SATURDAY, the 14th August, from parties desirous of supplying the undermentioned Spars for the service of Her Majesty's Government.

HASTINGS' CLASS.

Length Diameter
Four topmasts for 72-gun ships 66ft. 21in.
Two lower yards for ditto 100ft. 26in.

CAMBRIAN'S CLASS.

Length Diameter
Two lower masts for 36-gun Ships 2-88ft. 30in.
Spars to build the same 4-76ft. 29in.
4-84ft. 23 1/2 in.
4-60ft. 30in.
Four topmasts for 36-gun ships 65ft. 20in.
Two lower yards for ditto 100ft. 25in.

SIREN'S CLASS.

Length Diameter
Four lower masts for 16-gun brigs 75ft. 25in.

Tenders to be in Duplicate, sealed, and endorsed "Tenders for Spars."

TENDERS will be received at this office, until noon on THURSDAY, the 22nd inst., for the supply of the whole or any part of the undermentioned articles for the use of the Colonial Hospital, viz:β€”

Pillow cases, 24
Towels, hand, 24
Maori Gowns, 6
Blankets, 12
Rugs, 11
Bed Ticken, 40 yards
Tape, 12 pieces
Pins, 8 ounces
Needles, 200
Darning Needles, 50
Urinals, 12
Ditto for the bedridden, 6
Hand Basons, 6
Saucepan (1 1/2 gallon), 1
Water Buckets, 2
Lamps, small, 2
Washing Tub, small, 1
Tin Water Cans (2 gallons), 6
Pint Pannikins, 6
Spittoons, 6
Whitewash Brush, 1
Oil Can (two gallons), 1
Flannel, 8 yards.

Each Tender must be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed, and accompanied by a sample of the articles tendered for, with the price noted on each.
