His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor
NOR directs it to be notified, for general information, that, it having been deemed advisable that the Mayor and Corporation, when duly elected, should publicly take the customary Oaths, the same will be administered by His Honour the Chief Justice, in the Court House, Auckland, on the 22nd instant, at noon precisely, in the presence of His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor.
All Naval, Military, and Civil Officers, Clergymen of different denominations, Justices of the Peace, and such of the Colonists as can conveniently attend, are invited to be present on the occasion.
As soon as the Corporation shall have been sworn in and duly placed in possession of the Charter and other documents connected therewith, the Guard of Honour in attendance will present arms, the Band play "God save the Queen" and the Battery carry on the salute with 12 guns from Fort Britomart. The Colours to be hoisted both on shore and on the shipping.
The Public Offices will be closed and a general holiday observed in honour of the occasion.

TENDERS will be received at this office until noon on Thursday, the 4th of December next, for the erection of a Building adjoining the Customs Warehouse in Commercial Bay.
Specifications may be seen and particulars obtained at the office of the Superintendent of Works.
