HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR directs it to be notified that a Despatch has been received from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, intimating the approval by Her Majesty’s Government of the appointment of

John Watson Bain, Esq.,
to the Office of Consul for the Hawaiian Government in this Colony.
