Colonial Secretary’s Office,

Auckland, July 8th, 1851.

TENDERS will be received at this office, until noon on THURSDAY, the 17th instant, from persons desirous of furnishing for the service of the Colonial Government, the undermentioned descriptions of TIMBER, in such quantities as may be required during the six months ending the 31st December, 1851.

Timber, Kauri-Boards, at per 100 feet;
Scantling, 4 inch by 3 inch, per 100 feet;
ditto, 6 inch by 3 inch, per 100 feet; Paling, broad, 5 feet, per 100; ditto, narrow, 5 feet, per 100;
posts and rails, 8 feet, per 100.

Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed “Tender for Timber.”

His Excellency directs payment of the sum of Ten Pounds to the Chief Matiu, of the Ngatiwhatua tribe, as a Reward for his good conduct in assisting with provisions and canoes the shipwrecked Crew of the French Man-of-War “Alcmène,” which was lost on the West Coast, near Kaipara, on the morning of the 3rd ultimo.

TENDERS will be received at this Office, until noon of SATURDAY, the 12th July, for the supply of THREE PLOUGHS.
