PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Lieutenant-Colonel ROBERT HENRY WYNYARD, C.B., Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Ulster, &c., &c.

WHEREAS, by a Commission under the Public Seal of the General Government of New Zealand, bearing date the 14th day of April, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, the GOVERNOR-IN-CHIEF of New Zealand, pursuant to the authority vested in him in that behalf, by certain Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom, bearing date the twenty-third day of December, one thousand eight hundred and forty-six, hath been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, to appoint me, ROBERT HENRY WYNYARD, to be Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Ulster, during the absence from the said Province of the Governor-in-Chief of New Zealand, and of the person appointed by Her Majesty, by a Commission, under the Royal Signet and Sign Manual, to be Lieutenant-Governor of the said Province :

Now, therefore, I, ROBERT HENRY WYNYARD, do hereby proclaim and declare, that I have this day taken the prescribed oaths, and assumed the administration of the Government of the said Province of New Ulster accordingly, and I hereby call upon the Inhabitants of the said Province to be aiding and assisting me therein.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Ulster, at Government-House, Auckland, this twenty-sixth day of April, in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one.
