NOTICE RESPECTING LANDS SUPPOSED TO CONTAIN VALUABLE MINERALS.

Auckland, November 2nd, 1850,
NOTICE is hereby given, that His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief will grant to the person who shall first apply for the same, a Lease for 21 years of the Demesne Lands of the Crown supposed to contain valuable Minerals.
Every such Lease will comprise so much Land as may be necessary for the efficient conduct of mining operations within the same.
A Royalty of one-fifteenth of the Minerals to be raised upon such land will be reserved to Her Majesty, in accordance with the “Royal Instructions,” and provisions will be inserted in the Lease for securing the regular raising and getting of such Minerals on the part of the Lessee thereof.
The Governor-in-Chief will also cause the land which may be comprised in any such lease, to be afterwards, at the request of the Lessee thereof, put up for sale by public auction, at the upset price of £1 1s. an acre, the lowest upset price consistent with the requirements of the said “Instructions.”
All applications, to be made pursuant to the above regulations, must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary in writing, and must contain a plan and description of the land which the applicant may desire to lease.

to be Justices of the Peace for the Province of New Ulster.

HIS Excellency the Governor-in-Chief has directed it to be made known for general information, that he has granted and caused to be marked out and distinguished on the Charts of the New Zealand Islands, as College and Grammar School reserved Lands, the undernentioned Lands, forming part of the Demesne of the Crown, as an endowment for or towards the maintenance and support of a College and Grammar School, or Schools, on the Isthmus on which Auckland stands, if the funds suffice, or otherwise as an endowment for or towards the maintenance and support of such Grammar School or Schools alone; which College or Schools are to be always conducted on the following principles:
1st. In addition to the usual course of Education in the English Language and Mathematics, and in such other branches of learning as the Trustees for the time being may direct, all students attending such College or Schools shall, if they desire it, receive instruction in the Greek and
