PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Major-General
GEORGE DEAN PITT,
Knight of the Royal Hanoverian
Guelphic Order, Lieutenant-
Governor of the Province of
New Ulster, &c., &c.
WHEREAS His Excellency Sir George Grey, K. C. B., Governor-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, hath this day quitted the Province of New Ulster:
Now, therefore, I, George Dean Pitt, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have assumed the Administration of the Government of the said Province during the absence therefrom of the Governor-in-Chief, and I hereby call upon the inhabitants of the said Province to be aiding and assisting me therein.
Given under my Hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Ulster, at Auckland, this 29th day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.

It is hereby notified that an Occupation License for Isaac Wade, of Munga Munga road, has been approved, and is now ready for issue at the Office of the Colonial Treasurer, upon payment of the fee of five pounds sterling... (Β£5) chargeable thereon.
It is further notified that unless the License be taken out before the 12th of November next, all right in respect of it will be forfeited.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, temporarily,
George Sisson Cooper, Esq.,
to perform the duties of Native Secretary during the absence of the Honourable Constantine A. Dillon.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to direct, that the fees chargeable within the hundred of Auckland on all Great Cattle, shall be increased, from and after the 1st of November, 1850, to two shillings and sixpence for each head so impounded.
