IN pursuance of instructions received from Her Majesty, by a warrant under the Royal Sign Manual and Signet, bearing date 14th January, 1850, His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief has been pleased to appoint, by Letters Patent under the public seal of the Islands of New Zealand,

Henry Samuel Chapman, Esquire,
and
Sydney Stephen, Esquire,

to be Judges of the Supreme Court of the said Islands.

David Rough, Esquire, Harbour Master,

to be a Justice of the Peace for the Province of New Ulster.

Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, for the District of Russell, under the Provisions of the Registration Ordinance, Session 8, No. 9.

TENDERS FOR SURVEYING BY CONTRACT.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, 1st August, 1850.

TENDERS will be received at the Surveyor-General’s Office until noon on Wednesday, the 14th instant, from parties desirous of performing two small Surveys for the Government, one near Otahuhu, and the other in the district of Matakana.

Full particulars connected with the above Surveys can be obtained on application at the Survey Office.

Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed “Tender for Surveys.”
