SUPPLEMENTARY BYE LAW AND NOTICE FOR THE

Hundred of Onehunga.

At a Meeting held June 8, 1850, the War-
dens of Onehunga having learnt that several Bulls of inferior quality are at large on the Waste Lands, whereby persons who have expended capital in the purchase of choice breeds of cattle, with a view to the improve-
ment of their stock, have been disappointed in the result, from the depasturing of such Bulls as aforesaid:— now, therefore, the Wardens aforesaid deem it expedient to make the fol-
lowing Bye Law, and to issue the notice ac-
companying, to take effect thirty days after publication thereof in the Government Gazette.

Bye Law, No. 4; passed 8th June, 1850.—

That no Bulls shall be allowed to depasture on the Waste Lands of the Hundred of Onehunga, except such as shall be especially licensed by the Wardens, or any two of them, for the time being, under penalty of being impounded, and a fine of five shillings per head, on each im-
pounding, in addition to the usual pound fees and charges of such pound wherein they shall be impounded.

Notice.—Resolved, that the Wardens of Onehunga will not issue any license for the depasturing of any entire Bull, unless the same be the bona fide property of some licensed per-
son who shall have complied with all the Bye Laws, Rules, Regulations and Notices heretofore issued or hereafter issued by the said Wardens. Application for such license to be made to the Wardens in writing, accompanied by a certificate signed by two other licensed persons, who shall have seen and can vouch for the character of such Bull, to the effect that the same is of a good breed and reasonably likely to improve the stock.

At least six cows depasturing within the Hundred, which certificate shall state that such Bull therein described is the property of the person applying, and a reasonably good and proper Bull towards the preservation or improvement of a good breed of stock.

Note.—As no charge will be made for such license, persons owning Bulls within enclo-
sures would do well to register the same, and obtain a similar license, in order to obviate any liabilities from the breaking out of such Bulls during the coming season.
