- The amount collected in 1847 was £18,684 12s. 11d., from which has been deducted the sum of £1 18s. 10d., being the amount refunded to the Commissariat on account of the exemption from Customs' dues of supplies imported for the troops.
† The refund to the Commissariat in 1848 was £677 3s. 4d., which has been deducted from the gross collection of that year. The sum of £21,713 9s. 4d. includes arrears of the years 1842 and 1843, amounting to £1,910 11s. 1d.
‡ The Post Office deposit includes part of the collections of the year 1846.
