In conformity with the Regulations relating to the Common of Pasturage within the limits of a Hundred, I hereby notify that the following persons have taken out Depasturing Licenses for the Hundred of Howick.

SALE OF CROWN LANDS.

His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief directs it to be notified that the under-mentioned Lot, advertised for sale by Public Auction on the 1st proximo, by Proclamation, dated the 28th day of November, 1848, will be withdrawn from sale by the Colonial Treasurer:

With reference to the Notices of the 24th ultimo, and the 5th instant, publishing the names of persons to whom Depasturing Licenses have been issued within the several Hundreds of Auckland, Onehunga, Otahuhu, Pupuke, and Howick, I hereby call Meetings, to be held at the places and times specified below, of such holders of Depasturing Licenses, for the purpose of electing from among themselves three Wardens within the said Hundreds respectively.
For the Hundred of Auckland—at the Court House on Saturday, the 24th of February, at 12 o’clock.
For the Hundred of Onehunga—at the Village on Monday, the 19th February, at 1 p.m.
For the Hundred of Otahuhu—at the Village on Monday, the 19th of February, at 4 p.m.
For the Hundred of Pupuke—at Mr. Oliver’s, on Saturday, the 17th of February, at 2 p.m.
For the Hundred of Howick—at the Village on Monday, the 26th February, at 5 p.m.
The duties of the Wardens will be to determine the quantity and description of Cattle to be depastured on the Waste Lands of the Crown within the Hundred, and to apportion the number of great cattle and small cattle, which may be depastured for this year by every holder of a Depasturing License—regard being had to the quantity of land occupied by each such person, or to the price or sum per acre which may have been paid for the same into the Treasury, or to such other general rule as the person so elected may deem more suitable to the condition of the Hundred.
None but personal attendants at the Meeting will be allowed to vote.
Every such voter will be entitled to one vote for each of the three Wardens, and is requested to bring his License with him, for production, if required.

The Person named below having applied for a Depasturing License within the Hundred of Auckland within the specified time, and having taken out the same since the publication of the List of Holders of Depasturing Licenses within that Hundred, I hereby declare his name to be added to and comprised within such List.

SPECIAL MEETING of the Justices of the Peace, for the town and district of Auckland, will be holden at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, at Auckland, on Tuesday, the 6th day of March next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of forming a Militia List for the year next ensuing.

TRANSFER OF PUBLICANS’ LICENSES.
Notice is hereby given, that a Special Meeting of the Justices of the Peace for the town and District of Auckland, will be holden in this Court, on Tuesday the 6th day of March next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of receiving applications for the transfer of Publicans’ Licenses.
